Here, you can create aliases, sets known as Synsets, and, alternatives.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Aliases

These can be set as a second name for an SKU. This alias can be used to make reference to the original SKU.

You can set up an alias for an SKU by selecting the first option when clicking on the CREATE green button, next to the SKU SUBSTITUTION title. Take a look.

This will trigger a pop-up with the following options.

In order to create a new Alias you should choose the first option and click on continue.

This will take you to this next view.

You will be asked to fill out a form. Write down a name and select the SKU you are willing to set an alias.

Now, you have two options. First, set it up as global, which means the alias will be set for every order that is involved.

Second, you can select a specific channel to set up this alias for, which means that only the orders from this channel (integration) will have this alias set up.

This configuration describes how you are willing to set up your inventory.

Synsets

To create Synsets you can click on the Set (Synsets) option. That will take you to this view.

First, you will see a detailed list of the Synset or sets created before. If you click on the drop-down menu you will get to see an edit option. You will get the edit view where you can change the details of this Synset.

The edit view and the creation Synset view are the same. The edit view populates the properties set up before.

And you will get the following view.

  1. Name: Write down a name for your new Synset.
  2. Description: Add a new description.
  3. BOM SKU: Select your BOM SKU.
  4. Mix Max: Pending explanation.
  5. Shipping: Method: Select a Shipping Method.
  6. Previous Synsets Descriptions: A short description of the Synsets.
  7. Click on Save: Do not forget to click on Save to save your new settings.

Once your Synset is created it will be displayed in the Synset view. With its description. Just like the first view in this section.

There is an option related to the previous section Aliases. This option is Convert to Aliases.

With this option, you can transform Synsets into Aliases.

When you click on the option located next to the Upload Synsets. You will get this view.

This view shows you what sets (Synsets) are elegible to transform into aliases.

Check on one and choose wheater the new Alias will be global or channel.

Please consider the warning message

**The converted sets (Synsets) will be deleted

Alternatives

In this section, you can create Alternatives for both SKUs and Synsets. In the main view of the SKU Substitute click on Alternatives which will take you to the following view.

This means that two SKUs will be linked one to the other as alternatives.

In the initial SKU list are the ones you are willing to link to a second SKU. This connection goes from the initial SKU to the second SKU, it is only one way which means that the second SKU is not bound to the first one.

Again, if you click on the green Create button and select the third option “Do you want to configure an SKU as an alternative when it has no stock?” a message will appear.

As you can see the green plus button is available. It will add an Alternative to that SKU when the “The first in line” SKU runs out of stock.

When you click on the green plus button on an SKU you are willing to set up an Alternative, a pop-up will appear.

There, you can select the alternative for an SKU.

Let’s say you click on a particular SKU green option. This will show you a pop-up to select which SKU you are willing to set as an Alternative

A new window will pop-up where you can select the SKU or Synset. Click on select.

That will take you to the next view.

Here, there are two options:

  1. Bidirectional: This means subject SKU will be an alternative SKU too.
  2. Redraw: This option will be available if you are setting up Synsets as alternatives

Once completed, click on the Confirm button a message of confirmation will pop-up.
